SMART welcomes EIF Chair
On 12th June 2013, SMART welcomed Philip Marcus Clark AM to our Wollongong Facility.
As Chair of the Australian Government’s Education Investment Fund (EIF) Advisory Board, that provided $35 million to establish the Facility in 2008, Mr Clarke was pleased to see the unique Facility in action and particularly impressed with the multi-disciplinary approach championed by SMART.
Following a tour of the Facility with SMART CEO Garry Bowditch and a briefing on the Facility’s accomplishments and plans for the future, Philip met with UOW Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Wellings and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Judy Raper. Mr Clark commended SMART on its achievements to date and acknowledged the importance of the upcoming global collaboration in the form of theInternational Symposium for Next Generation Infrastructure, which will take place later this year.
